This is the blog of an unusual Washington, DC summer intern. Most summer interns in the DC area are people in their 20's and in college. Well, I am working on my Master's Degree in Social Justice and Human Rights at Arizona State University and this is my internship, but I am in my 40's. I am a full-time 5th grade teacher in Arizona and a full-time student. So I am interning at Innocents at Risk, a Non-profit that fights human trafficking, targeting sexual trafficking of women and children. Having never been to Washington, DC before, I am starting to see that things are a bit different here than in Arizona. I am learning a lot.
